mietta’s @ arab street

had been dying to try former michaelangelo’s poster chef angelo sanelli’s new establishment mietta’s @ arab street. so i jumped at the opportunity when a friend asked for suggestions on where to have her birthday dinner last week.

had a bit of a hard time finding e place as it’s located on the less buzzy side of arab st – opposite golden landmark hotel. n i think that’s y the restaurant was rather quiet for a saturday nite… not sure if many people know about it or know where it is.

but u won’t miss it when u drive by. both the frontage n indoors are warm n inviting in that mediterranean way with just e right touch of class.

yummmm

food was great as expected. i m a huge fan of michaelangelo’s risotto – n our order of the risotto with porcini mushrooms n foie gras did not disappoint. i wish they’d also added roast duck to the mix – had tried this sanelli dish once at a world gourmet summit event n thought i’d died n gone to heaven.

other dishes to highlight were the penne with vodka n prawn (vodka n pasta = sure win), n the vongole with angel hair pasta – slurping on the divine vongole sauce through the thin tubes of spaghetti… amazing! we had to order another one to share after everyone was done with their mains.

only thing i wasn’t really a fan of was the fish. i’d stick to ordering fr the pasta menu.
