the gift of grub

so the folks are flying off to london for the next few weeks to celebrate their 30th anniversary. n i thought the best possible anniversary gift for them would be to contribute to their dining experience there. people always know the must-sees n the must-dos in each city, but what about the must-eats?

with that in mind, i got a list of great romantic recommendations from some kind folks in london n shortlisted the top few choices. reservations were a breeze – most established london eateries allow for online confirmations – i’d love to have more of this in singapore.

then i printed the information about each restaurant + reservation details and directions on individual cards and sealed them in an envelope with a cash ‘angpow’ from the sister n i as a sponsorship of each meal.

worked like a charm. the folks loved it!

Great choices! I’ve been to Wild Honey (and sister restaurant Arbutus) and the Wolseley for tea but not the middle restaurant though… just came back from London, the weather’s lovely. 🙂 Another top place to try for delicious authentic Spanish is El Pirata in Mayfair, definitely worth a stop if they get the chance.

    • thanks! i’ll definitely let them know… they had a fantastic experience at the wolseley. i’d casually mentioned it was their anniversary n they actually presented them a complimentary cake with ‘happy anniversary’ on it.
